THE CORONATION
In May 2023, King Charles celebrated his coronation. Irrespective of views on the monarchy, there is no denying the scale of the spectacle that occurred. The occasion required a branding that reflected this opulence. Three concepts were pitched, and mine was selected to be developed over the course of 4 months into a cross-platform, cross-channel, cross-medium identity.

Pomp & Pageantry
With various symbolic moments shown throughout the Coronation, each element was meticulously considered. The velvet background is a nod to the King's robe, the St Edward's Crown icon is a tribute to the crown he wore following his coronation, and the beveled image frames are inspired by the shapes of the stones embedded within the Crown Jewels.
A Piece of History
Hours were spent refining textures and colour palettes to ensure each asset displayed opulence and unequivocal elegance. Due to time pressures, we enlisted the 3D expertise of MMMultiply, to create a 3D title sequence, depicting the St King Edward's Crown forming with molten gold.

REPUBLICAN VIEW
It’s only right to show both sides of the story. While many still support the Royal Family, there is a growing group that oppose the institution. To maintain balance and uphold impartiality, the branding is kept simple, with gold accents reserved for the title slate and chapter ends (before going into an ad break).
